About stationery

Stationery still matters for invoices, formal letters, legal correspondence, and the kind of business that signs things in pen. The job is to get colour-consistent, well-printed, with-compliments slips, letterheads, and envelopes that look identical to your business cards and folders.

Letterheads run on 100 or 120 gsm laser-compatible bond (so they go through your office printer for variable text). With-compliments slips on 120 gsm. Envelopes in DL (most common, 110 × 220 mm), DLE wallet, or C4 (A4 unfolded). Window or non-window. Pantone-matched corporate colours sit best on offset runs of 1,000+; smaller runs go digital with a calibrated CMYK build.

Press-ready PDF preferred. Adobe Illustrator (AI), InDesign (IDML packaged), or EPS also accepted. 3 mm bleed, 5 mm safe area, fonts outlined, CMYK colour, 300 dpi.

With-compliments slip
120 gsm laser bond. 99 × 210 mm (one-third A4).
Envelopes
DL wallet (110 × 220 mm), DL pocket, DLX (120 × 235 mm), C5 (162 × 229 mm), C4 (229 × 324 mm). Window or non-window. Self-seal or moistenable gum.
Print methods
Digital for runs under 1,000. Offset (Pantone matching, full-bleed coverage) over 1,000. Foil stamp and embossing on premium runs.

Frequently asked questions.

Can letterheads go through my office laser printer?
Yes, that is the whole point. We supply on 100 or 120 gsm laser-compatible bond, with toner-fast inks. Heavier stocks (170 gsm+) start to give double-feeds on smaller office printers, so we stay under 120 gsm unless you are pre-printing the variable text too.
Do you Pantone-match corporate colours?
On offset runs of 1,000+, yes, with a 1:1 PMS match. On digital runs, we calibrate the closest CMYK build and send a hard proof for sign-off. The CMYK build is usually within 5 to 10% delta-E of the PMS, which is acceptable for body colour but not for tightly branded solids. If colour is critical, run offset.
Should I print envelopes or use plain envelopes with a label?
For under 250 envelopes a year, plain envelopes plus a printed label are usually cheaper. Above 500 a year, printed envelopes are cheaper per piece, look better in the mail, and improve open rates on direct mail by about 15 to 25%.
Can you do recycled or eco-friendly stocks?
Yes. 100% post-consumer recycled bond and FSC-certified stocks are stocked across the weight range. Recycled options have a slightly natural tone (off-white) which some brands prefer; we will send a swatch with the quote.
What size envelope fits an A4 unfolded?
C4 (229 × 324 mm). For an A4 folded once into A5, use C5 (162 × 229 mm). For A4 folded into thirds (the standard letter fold), use DL (110 × 220 mm), which is by far the most common business envelope.
